Selection criteria

• High school graduates holding a baccalaureate diploma will sit a written examination and the admission score will be calculated according to the following algorithm::

  ADMISSION SCORE = 0.5 X BACCALAUREATE SCORE* + 0.5 X WRITTEN TEST SCORE

  * For the BACCALAUREATE SCORE the candidate can opt for one of the following: the baccalaureate average score or the baccalaureate exam grade in physics, informatics, or mathematics.
• The Faculty of Physics acknowledges the Augustin Maior Physics Competition, school Olympiads and a series of competitions for high school students as an alternative admission method (details in the Faculty of Physics Addendum to the Regulation for organising and conducting the undergraduate level admission examination).

* In July and September 2025, admission to the degree programme Kinesitherapy and Special Motor Function (full time) in Romanian and Hungarian will be conducted at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport

Selection criteria

• Evaluation framework for assessing motor skills on a Pass/Fail basis.
• Multiple choice test in Biology worth 100% of the admission score.

* In July and September 2025, admission to the degree programme Medical Engineering (full time) will be conducted at the Faculty of Engineering

• Motivation letter graded on a Pass/Fail basis. Results are published on the admission platform
• The arithmetic mean with two decimal points of the second and third written tests of the baccalaureate exam (compulsory subject area, respectively subject area and specialisation exam), worth 100% of the admission score.
• The final admission score for candidates who have obtained over the past four years 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize or special mention in national and/or international school olympiads is 10.00. 

*Under Higher Education Law no. 199/2023, university degree programmes may be organised in consortia for dual education. In the dual system of higher education, the learning, teaching, practical, research and assessment activities are equally distributed between the university and the economic operators, subject to an agreement signed between them. The higher education institution conducts learning, teaching and assessment activities, while the economic operators provide work-based learning activities and hands-on training of students. In order to provide dual degree programmes Babeș-Bolyai University has established collaboration protocols with relevant economic partners in their field of activity, thus providing its graduates with a competitive advantage on the labour market.
