Ranked by the QS International Assessment of universities (Quacquarelli Symonds World Universities Rankings) among the first 100-150 faculties of modern languages in the world, the Faculty of Letters from Cluj offers a broad range of undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes. Candidates may choose one combination of two specialisations of a native language and literature (Romanian, Hungarian, German), a modern language (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Norwegian, Finnish), an Asian language (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) a classical language (Latin, ancient Greek, Hebrew), and Comparative and universal literature, Applied modern languages, Ethnology and folklore. Selection criteria:

  • Graduation exam score (1/3 of the admission score)
  • Average diploma programme score (1/3 of the admission score)
  • Research proposal grade (1/3 of the admission score) - written (will be submitted upon application)
  • For the European Master’s Programme in Conference Interpreting: interpreting skills test and motivation letter
  • For the European Master’s in Translation Studies and Terminology: translation project and motivation letter

Tie-breaker criteria (for all specialisations):

  • Graduation exam score
  • Undergraduate years of study overall grade
