The Faculty of Theatre and Television has a didactic mission but also a research and artistic creation mission, established for each of the artistic domains it offers: Theatre and Performing Arts and Cinematography and Media The main mission of the faculty is to form top professionals trained to the highest level in the performing arts and film, able to work in an increasingly dynamic and globalized cultural context, both in subsidized cultural institutions, both national and international, and in independent companies. The Faculty aims at forming an imaginative and creative thinking, development of performing skills, capacity of using classical media techniques, but also experimental and alternative ones, in order to achieve innovative artistic products. 

Convinced of the importance of initial training, the departments of Theatre - Romanian line of study, Theatre - Hungarian line of study and Cinematography and Media - Romanian and Hungarian, the faculty offers programmes related to the fields of Theatre and Performing Arts and Cinematography and Media at all levels of higher education: undergraduate, master's and doctoral degree.

Specialisation

THEATRE AND PERFORMING ARTS Field

FULL TIME education

1. Programme: DEVISED THEATRE PRACTICES
- 2 years, in Romanian

Selection criteria

Module A - Acting:

  • Test 1. Repertoire performance (the candidate will be asked to perform a repertoire of roles or monologues selected by the committee) worth 50% of the admission score.
  • Test 2. Improvisation (the candidate will perform a theatre improvisation test) worth 50% of the admission score.

Module B - Theatre directing:

  • Test 1. Interview (the candidate will undergo an interview assessing general/theatre knowledge and motivation for pursuing the specialisation) worth 40% of the admission score.
  • Test 2. A directing project submitted with the application (the candidate will detail a directing project for a performance, containing: directorial argument, conceptual idea, directorial project structure by scenes/segments, scenography - set and costume design, dramatic text/script, estimated budget) worth 60% of the admission score.

2. Programme: CULTURAL MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
- 2 years, in Romanian

Selection criteria

  • Interview - based on the project enclosed with the application file (the candidate will be interviewed on their individual research or creative project in the field, focusing on their motivation and general and technical knowledge) worth 100% of the admission score.

3. Programme: EDUCATION THROUGH THEATRE
- 2 years, in English and German

Selection criteria

  • Interview - applicants will be interviewed in English in relation to their self-reported motivation for career development and use of theatre education techniques, worth 100% of the admission score.

4. Programme: CONTEMPORARY THEATRE (ACTING AND THEATRE SCIENCES)
- 2 years, in Hungarian

Selection criteria

  • Individual research or creative project in the field - the candidate will present an individual research or creative project, previously written, with an emphasis on motivation and general knowledge of the field of Theatre and Performing Arts, worth 100% of the admission score.

CINEMA AND MEDIA Field

FULL TIME education

5. Programme: DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING
- 2 years, in English and German

Selection criteria

  • Interview - based on the project enclosed with the application file (the candidate will be interviewed in English on their creative documentary film project, focusing on topic, subject, characters, as well as on their personal stylistic and directorial vision) worth 100% of the admission score.

6. Programme: DIGITAL INTERACTIVE ARTS
- 2 years, in English

Selection criteria

  • Interview - based on the project enclosed with the application file (the candidate will be interviewed in English on their personal artistic creation project, demonstrating their ability to manage and execute an artistic creation project and their openness to transdisciplinary approach) worth 100% of the admission score.

7. Programme: FILM AND AUDIOVISUAL STUDIES
- 2 years, in English

Selection criteria

  • Interview - based on the project enclosed with the application file (the candidate will be interviewed in English on their personal research project in the field of Cinema and Media, focusing on the topic, subject and methodology of the research, as well as the originality of the project in relation to the scientific literature) worth 100% of the admission score.

8. Programme: THE ART OF SHORT FILMMAKING
- 2 years, in Hungarian

Selection criteria

  • Interview - based on the project enclosed with the application file (the candidate will be interviewed in Hungarian on a personal documentary, animation, film project, focusing on topic, subject, characters, as well as on their personal stylistic and directorial vision) worth 100% of the admission score.
