The Faculty of Theatre and Television has a didactic mission but also a research and artistic creation mission, established for each of the artistic domains it offers: Theatre and Performing Arts and Cinematography and Media The main mission of the faculty is to form top professionals trained to the highest level in the performing arts and film, able to work in an increasingly dynamic and globalized cultural context, both in subsidized cultural institutions, both national and international, and in independent companies. The Faculty aims at forming an imaginative and creative thinking, development of performing skills, capacity of using classical media techniques, but also experimental and alternative ones, in order to achieve innovative artistic products. 

Convinced of the importance of initial training, the departments of Theatre - Romanian line of study, Theatre - Hungarian line of study and Cinematography and Media - Romanian and Hungarian, the faculty offers programmes related to the fields of Theatre and Performing Arts and Cinematography and Media at all levels of higher education: undergraduate, master's and doctoral degree.

Specialisation

FULL TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES AND SELECTION CRITERIA

Theatre and Performing Arts Field

  1. Education Through Theatre (in English and German)

Selection criteria:

  • Interview around self-reported motivation for career development and use of theatre education techniques. The admission examination is conducted in English
  1. Theatre Arts (in Romanian)

Selection criteria:

  • Module A - Acting
    • Roles and monologue repertoire out of which the committee will choose the ones that will be acted out - 50%
    • Theatre improvisation practical test - 50%
  • Module B - Theatre directing
    • Interview: the candidate will undergo an interview assessing general knowledge and motivation for pursuing the specialisation - 40%
    • The candidate will deliver a presentation of a directing project - 60%
  1. Contemporary Theatre (Acting and Theatre Studies) (in Hungarian)

Selection criteria:

  • Candidates will undergo an interview/examination session which will assess their motivation and general knowledge in the Theatre and Performing Arts field and will present an individual research or creative project in the field, previously written, to motivate their choice of specialisation.
  1. Cultural Management and Entrepreneurship(in Romanian)

Selection criteria:

  • Candidates will be interviewed based on an individual research or creative project in the field assessing motivation and general and specialist knowledge. The draft project will be submitted with the application file.

Cinematography and Media Field

  1. Documentary Filmmaking (in English)

Selection criteria:

  • Interview in English based on an individual documentary film project, previously drafted and submitted with the application file.
  1. The Art of Short Filmmaking (in Hungarian)

Selection criteria:

  • The candidate will undergo an interview in Hungarian based on a personal project (film, documentary, animation, etc.), previously written in Hungarian.
  1. Digital Interactive Arts (in English)

Selection criteria:

  • Interview in English based on a personal artistic project, previously written and submitted with the application file, which justifies the interest for using interactive technologies in artistic creation.
  1. Film and Audiovisual Studies (in English)

Selection criteria:

  • Applicants will be interviewed in English in relation to an individual research project in the field of Cinema and Media, prepared in advance and submitted with their application.

Tie-breaker criteria (for all degree programmes):

  • Score of the graduation exam
  • Score of the baccalaureate exam
